Day 1 Arrival in Paris, and flight to Lourdes
Welcome to Paris Airport, Charles de Gaulle. Upon arrival at the terminal, you will meet your Tour Director, and together you will continue for your flight to Lourdes. When you arrive at Lourdes, your drive will be waiting to take you to your hotel. You will have some free time before dinner. Then you will join the rest of the pilgrims for the candlelight procession.
Day 2 Full Day tour of Lourdes
Today's guided walking tour includes the Grotto, where the Virgin Mary appeared to St. Bernadette in 1858, Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine, Bernadette's birthplace, and her family home. You will also see the Basilica of St. Pius X with its miraculous baths! In the evening, join your fellow Christians for the candlelight procession.
Day 3 Lourdes – Loyola – Burgos
Today you are leaving behind Lourdes and make your way to Burgos. Along the way, you will make a stop at Loyola. There you will visit the Monastery of St Ignatius. Afterwards you will get back on your bus and continue towards Burgos. Burgos is a medieval town, and it is also the capital of the unified Kingdom of Castile-Leon. Upon arrival, you will visit St. Mary's Cathedral or the Cathedral of Burgos. A gothic-style cathedral dedicated to the Virgin Mary sits right in the epicenter of the city. Overnight in Burgos
Day 4 Burgos to Salamanca via Avilla
After breakfast you leave Burgos and begin your journey to Salamanca. On your way, you will stop at Avila, the City of Kings, and of Saints, which is entirely encircled by 11th-century walls. This is the birthplace of St. Theresa, view the preserved body of St. Theresa of Avila in the Carmelite Convent. Free time for lunch, and then you will continue to Salamanca. Salamanca is a city of vast and diverse architecture gothic-style cathedrals, and Romanesque style palaces are decorating the town. Salamanca is home to one of the oldest universities and has a tremendous academic heritage as its university used to be the best in the world for many centuries. During your tour of the city, you will admire the magnificent architecture but also visit the baroque Church of La Clerecia and the House of Shells ( Casa de la Conchas), which is decorated with scallops shells that symbolize the pilgrimage to Santiago. Day 5 Salamanca to Fatima
Today you will cross the borders of Spain and travel to Portugal and, more precisely, Fatima! Once you arrive, you will visit the Our Lady of Fátima Shrine with the tombs of the visionaries, and the Chapel of the Apparitions, made famous by the Virgin Mary's apparition to three shepherd children—Francisco, Jacinta, and Lucia—on May 13, 1917.visit the village of Aljustrel to see the homes of the three holy children (Fatima Miracle). Day 6 Fatima to Lisbon & Cruise Embarkation MSC Virtuosa
After breakfast, you will pack up your bags and head to Lisbon for your Cruise embarkation. Upon arrival in Lisbon, you will have a panoramic tour of the city's most famous sites. You will also make a stop at St.Antony's church before heading to the port. Dinner and overnight on board.
This morning you are docked in Barcelona. After breakfast, you disembark and begin your city tour of Barcelona along with your guide and driver. Your tour will take you through many famous landmarks such as Plaza Catalunya the main and largest square of Barcelona and the center of the city, Passeig de Gracia, the most expensive avenue in Spain filled with luxury brands and also La Sagrada Familia the masterpiece of Antoni Gaudi and the world's most famous Basilica.
Day 9 Marseille Aix-en-Provence Wine tour
This morning you are docked in Marseille on the South Coast of France. Your tour today will take you to Aix-en-Provence, the famous Rose wine region of Southern France. You will earn about the history of the area, and you will have the chance to taste the local wine with an included wine tasting in one of the wineries.
Day 10 Disembarkation Genova and drive to Florence
This morning we disembark our cruise ship and make our way towards Florence. On our way to Florence, we will stop for lunch at the famous city of Pisa, known for its Leaning Tower. After lunch you will have some free time to explore before we continue our journey. Upon arrival in Florence, you will enjoy a walking tour of this beautiful city, and we will see the Galleria del Accademia house to the famous statue of David, Duomo, with its pink, white and green marble façade and Brunelleschi's famous dome. We will have some time to stop at the Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge), the famous 14th-century bridge, lined with gold and silversmiths. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 11 Florence to Assisi
Today you will profit a full day in Assisi. After breakfast, you will go to the Capella Romanica to celebrate Mass. After Mass, you will continue to visit St Francis Basilica, Church of Santa Maria Maggiore, Basilica of Santa Chiara, and the tombs of St. Francis and St Clare. Lunch on own and rest of the day in leisure. Dinner and overnight in Assisi.
This morning you are leaving Assisi and continue to Rome. Upon arrival in Rome, you will go to the Vatican for your tour visiting the Vatican Museum, home to many historical and artistic masterpieces. Enter the Sistine Chapel and admire Michelangelo's Frescoes wrapping all the walls around you. Conclude your tour with a visit to St. Peters Basilica, where you will find "Pieta," the only work of Michelangelo signed by him. Overnight in Rome.
Day 13 Imperial Rome Tour
This morning touring will start at the Legendary Coloseum famous as the place of spectacle and death. You will also see the Roman Forum, which was a place where Romans would meet to discuss politics and religion as well as to shop. Circus Maximus also shows the glory of Imperial Rome, being a chariot racing stadium that could accommodate 150,000 spectators! Overnight in Rome.
